Students who start the day on an empty stomach can't learn. For many children at Edmonds Community School , whose families are struggling, our $10,000 fundraising goal will mean the difference between starting the day hungry and starting it with a smile.

Many students at Watson Elementary have suffered trauma in their young lives, prompting times of uncontrollable outbursts that can hurt themselves and others. A sensory room helps these students calm themselves so they can successfully stay in class.

The school's kindergarten program includes nature walks to forests and beaches and students need backpacks. However, some parents are unable to afford backpacks, making it difficult for them to participate. The school is asking for $1,872 for backpacks.

A number of students at Langley Secondary School live too far away to walk and they can’t afford the bus fare to get to school. The school is seeking $1,500 to buy emergency bus tickets to help get these students to school.

Young mothers at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School need help and encouragement to get to classes. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Tupper's Building Futures Together Program to help these young moms and their children get a good start.

The Surrey school board needs $100,000 to feed 854 vulnerable students breakfast in 22 schools, students who otherwise would go hungry. The Attendance Matters Program is designed to encourage them to attend school and start the day fed and ready to learn.

Our goal is to raise $12,000 to help buy food, clothing and other necessities and provide some of Queen Alexandra's most impoverished children the opportunity to go on school outings.
