- Provides assistance to disaster victims and emergency situations. - Responds to international disasters and conflicts by providing funds and resources. - Promotes emergency preparedness teaching Canadians how to prepare for emergency situations. - Offers injury prevention programs such as Water Safety, First Aid and Respect Ed. - Provides support to the elderly and ill through programs home care, mealsto seniors, etc. - Provides meals to school children and low income families, through schooland community programs. - Operates clothing programs to ensure children have hat, mittens, and scarves. - Counsels and provides support to homeless people in search of family and resources. - Responds to international development programs such as health care in vulnerable areas. - Helps family members re-establish contact after separation due to war, conflict and disasters and promotes int'l humanitarian law & education programs.
