Throughout my adult life, I find myself volunteering my time for causes that benefit children. If I look back far enough, it seems it started in college when I would spend time every week volunteering at a local orphanage in South Africa. I was amazed at how grateful the children and staff were by me simply being there, whether it was to play games, help with bedtime routines or hang out with other young people. Over the last two decades, I have dedicated my time to helping children, whose families cannot afford to send them to camp, to attend the wonderful Camp Susquehannock, as well as volunteer in my time in my local school district as a parent volunteer. Many hands make light work and I enjoy being able to lend a hand where needed.
