Spina Bifida of Western New York, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3
non-profit organization that was founded in 1973 by a group of
dedicated parents of young and adult children with Spina Bifida. They
committed to advocating for those living with this permanent
congenital disability and improving the quality of life for those
affected by Spina Bifida in Western New York.
Today, SBWNY continues to serve children, adults, and families
living with Spina Bifida with a mission to empower them to
live full and enriched lives, by offering a community of strong
relationships, support, and education.
Our 100% volunteer organization relies solely on donations, grants,
fundraising events, and sponsorships to provide:
•wheelchair-accessible events,
•referral and support programs,
•medical equipment grants,
•individual, family, and community education,
•outreach, and so much more.
All funds raised stay in the Western New York area to foster
Inclusion, accessibility, and opportunities that are crucial to
children and adults living with this complex medical condition.
