Slab City Community Group Inc. is a Community Land Trust Charity. We have five purposes: ~ allowing affordable access to living space to low income, moderate income, elderly and or disabled residents of Slab City; ~ addressing the system sources of homelessness by providing education about off grid living, including local ecological land stewardship and permaculture agricultural practices; ~ developing & encouraging local artistic projects; ~ promoting and providing education and information about civic engagement; and ~ providing education and encouragement to Slab City residents to participate in economic redevelopment and stability at a local level in Imperial County, California.
