Hello,
My name is SOS Children's Village Bhagat Singh Fund
Ashish Beniwal is India's biggest chance to win his first medal as a winter all-India strongman.
India has won a lot of medals in the Summer National Games but India has never won a medal in the Winter Olympics.
But this winter, the All India UNVRSTI medal is expected to be stripped of his training due to his inability to pay fees.
Please use our Olympic raised amount to win a medal in India.
Ashish recently won 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at the Winter Games, Austria.
It is a tournament organized by the International Masters Games Association which is recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
This effectively means that the world's top ice skaters are in fact at the event. Thus a win here is a strong indication that a medal in the winter Anwari is possible.
Continuous practice and training is required under the best coaches to maintain intensity.
Academy Ashish trains are one of the best in the world.
December 15 is the last date for Ashish to pay his fees.
Unable to pay his fees, Ashish will be unable to train and his preparation for the medal will derail.
Please help this son of our India to help India win medals at All India level in winter.
He is our only hope.
Ashish debuted as a national roller skating champion, but since roller skating is not recognized as an official Olympic sport, he decided to pursue the sport as his own on the blade in the snow.
Usually, Ashish receives a coaching grant from the Haryana
government, but this time due to lack of funds due to the COVID
period, Ashish is not getting the funds to pay his fees.
Through this amount of money, you can help Ashish pay his fees and the winner can get ready to help the winners.
Below is the story of Ashish as seen in Humans of Bombay.
"My family made it very clear that becoming an athlete would mean an uncomfortable life - I come from a family of athletes, but they still wanted me to pursue a traditional career. But as a child, I at least Spends less 6 hours. One day playing sports. I was only 5 when I dreamed of representing India at the Olympics.
As I grew up, I participated in roller skating competitions at the state and national levels. I was also studying but never great. At the age of 22, I could only hope for a future in sports, or I was lying to myself. So I announced at home, 'I'm going to Scandinavia!' It was here that there was skating action and they also had a good computer science program.
Mom and Dad reminded me of a time when our family struggled to get furniture for our house. But I told him, 'You have made me strong to take whatever comes.' When they saw that I had already bought their tickets and taken a student loan, they agreed.
So I took my computer degree as a backup. To cover my expenses, I did odd jobs — I took care of newspapers and children. I practice ice skating until 9 am and then work in a bar. Most days, I slept for 4 hours.
Also, I was not doing well in my course- I was good enough to score; My heart was always on the rink. So I practiced, and after 9 months, I decided to compete. But I was unfit - I was a roller skater, not an ice skater.
But the next day, I read an article that called me 'The Indian Who Ice Skates'. A journalist from Holland took an interest in my story and put me in contact with my coach, who said, 'If you are crazy enough to move countries for this sport, then I am crazy enough to make you a coach. ' Fees!
By then I had enough savings. So I dived, left Uni and went to Holland for full-time training.
After 8 years of training and many championships later, I was the first Indian to win 4 medals at the Winter World Sports Masters this year. I called my parents and told them, Mom, Dad, I am representing India. He was overjoyed - he immediately called all his friends to give him the news!
I have cleared my loan over time, but it is still taking a lot that makes the meet. My parents were right - it wasn't a 'comfortable' trip, but I'm still happy to get out of my comfort zone because I don't have anything I can imagine myself doing.
As the required amount is large, I request you to kindly contribute towards healing and help during this time. Every contribution is important!
