We unexpectedly lost a bright soul in 2022.  Matt always had a smile on his face, was the first to make a joke or be the shoulder you needed in hard times.  He loved his family and friends with everything he had.  When the phone would ring, it was most likely Matt, because who else still calls instead of sending a text?  When all of our phones went silent, it was deafening.  We have created this charity event in Matt's honor so that he can continue to bring light into this world. 

Anyone who knew Matt was aware of how much he loved basketball, especially the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.  We have the privilege of partnering with a great youth organization in New York City called New Heights NYC (   https://www.newheightsnyc.org/   ).  Their mission is "   to educate and empower promising underserved youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes by developing the skills necessary for success in high school, college and life."     We believe Matt would love to have a hand in creating basketball's next greats by giving them an opportunity to succeed on the courts and in life.  New Heights  is a fabulous organization that has affected so many lives, including some current and former NBA players.  The donations and raffle proceeds received from this event will go toward scholarships for youth looking to head to college and toward overall support for the organization’s programs. 

The charity event will be held this August at Kinsmen Brewing Company in Milldale, CT.  There will be a raffle with prizes, and drawings will occur at the end of the event.  We will be gathering donated raffle items until the event night.  Items currently available for the raffle are listed on the "raffle items" tab above.  Raffle tickets will be sold at the event, or you can purchase them online and they will be added to the drawing basket the day of the event.  We will be shaking up the basket before we draw so everyone will have a fair chance to be a winner!  Tickets to the event are $40 per person.  We are requesting you purchase the tickets ahead of time so we can keep an accurate headcount.  Please reference the "event details" tab for information on how to purchase event tickets.  We do have limited space as the venue has a capacity limit.  If you cannot attend the event in person, there are multiple ways to still support and be involved with this wonderful memory in honor of Matt.   

Sponsors   : If you would like to sponsor a raffle basket, entirely or partially, please email me and we can make arrangements.   We are also accepting items to be raffled off. If you would like to donate a basket, please let me know.  We will get it listed and make arrangements to transport it to the event. 

Virtual Donors:    You can provide a straight donation, using the link on this page.  Another way to support virtually is to buy raffle tickets to enter for the raffle items.  You would first purchase the number of tickets wanted by making a donation on this page (prices for tickets are on the raffle item page).  Then email me the number of tickets you would like in which raffle basket by using the numbers listed.  Since the tickets will not be going to into the basket until the day of the event, should we get something new and you want to switch your basket preference, we can accommodate the change.  In order to keep our sanity, please only one switch per person!  Should a virtual donor win, you will be contacted after the event!
