You may or may not know this about me: Do to some unfortunate circumstances, and through no fault of my own I found myself  homeless for about 6 months. I was gainfully employed but unable to secure shelter. Between crashing at friends houses and sleeping in the back of my truck there was never a dull moment. While every day was a struggle I never lost faith, that I would somehow figure it out and get back on my feet.  I choose to Rappel last year to help fight homelessness in hopes that maybe just one person would have a warm, safe place to sleep.  In doing so I was also pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone and step off the side of a building.  I was terrified to do it but I was also terrified when I didn't know where I was going to sleep at night. I thought... "being scared to step off the building will only be scary for a couple of minutes, while being  homeless was scary for months. I can do this"  After I accomplished it I had much the same feeling I had when I was able to get a roof over my head. Like I could conquer anything.  I never asked for help when I needed it the most. Pride, shame, embarrassment, they all stood in the way. Now I am asking for your support, not for myself but for others that may find themself in a tough situation.  My goal is to raise $1,000.00 to help others in need  $1,000.00 will provide emergency shelter, meals, care, rent or utility assistance & other related services for 17 individuals through the Salvation Army.
