Nate is 25yo. He first went into kidney failure in 2018 after tearing his ACL, his freshman year of college (where he got a full ride for football) I like to add that in. lol .After doing work up to do surgery on his ACL they noticed Nate had a lot of blood and protein in his urine. Nate later had a biopsy where they found out Nate had IGA Nephropathy. His immune system attacks his kidneys. Although Nate's kidneys were sick they weren't bad enough to start dialysis right away. Nate started dialysis for the first time in 2020 and was very fortunate to get a transplant a few months later in July 2020. Nate was put on a lot of medication to suppress his immune system so that it didn't attack his transplanted kidney. However, because his immune system is suppressed it puts him at a higher risk of contracting illnesses. With that being said Nate contracted RSV ( respiratory virus) In December of 2022 which essentially killed his transplanted kidney. Nate went into kidney failure for the 2nd time and started dialysis again in January of 2023. Since then w e have been going through the process to get him on the transplant list and have actually been approved Now they will take Nate's case to their board Even though Nate is approved for their transplant list the deceased list is 3-5 years long. We are now currently looking for live donors who would want to see if they are a match to donate a kidney to Nate. With that being said, you can only imagine the financial struggles we are going through. Right now we are trying to get caught up on bills and get in a spot where we can live when Nate is out of work. Any donations will go towards his medical bills and our daily living (ie bills). We appreciate everyone so so much!
