Hello, For 20 years, I have been working in my country's agricultural sector, specifically in the province of El Oro, within the banana sector, one of the main agricultural industries that drives the local and national economy. Bananas are Ecuador's main export product.

However, over time, and due to government decisions that have not benefited the population, I have witnessed how common crime has evolved into organized crime. The migration from the countryside to cities, such as Guayaquil (where I am from) and Machala (where I currently reside), has left many young people without job opportunities, turning them into easy prey for criminal organizations, who recruit them and pay them to commit criminal acts.

In a country like Ecuador, where people carry a love for decent work in their blood, the "Roots of Hope" initiative was born. This project seeks to offer young people a real opportunity to work in a clean environment, free from agrochemical contamination, protecting their health and allowing them to stay close to their homes and families.
