Fragile Inheritance is the work of the biologist/artist team of Fred Schueler and Aleta Karstad.

They have operated as a couple for over 40 years, and during the past 30 years as a volunteer and freelance team under the banner of Fragile Inheritance - teaching, mentoring, collaborating, writing journal, illustrating plants and animals, painting landscapes, and keeping a database of natural history observations.

In January of 2022 Fragile Inheritance was incorporated federally as a non-profit organization, and now is the time to raise funds for development and maintenance of the Fragile Inheritance Database.

Fragile Inheritance Database is going online!

Fragile Inheritance promotes the long term study of species and habitats through field research, art, data conservation and analysis. We are currently seeking support to launch our online database, making over 152,732 records accessible to all.
