This past summer, I had the opportunity to take students from the Center for Male Engagement on a backpacking expedition with Philadelphia Outward Bound School along the Appalachian Trail. Watching them step outside their comfort zones, push through challenges, and lean on each other for support reminded me just how powerful these experiences are. For me, it was more than just a trip, it was proof of how nature builds confidence, leadership, and community. That’s why supporting POBS means so much to me: it gives students the same chance to discover their strength and potential in ways the classroom alone can’t provide.
