I have spent much of my vocational ministry ministering to people who have struggled with addictions & mental health, many of them finding themselves in the prison system.  I was a Chaplain at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon, where federal offenders with mental health issues were housed.  I firmly believe that many people suffer silently with mental health concerns because of the societal stigmatization that has historically accompanied mental health diagnosis.  The COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions has shed light on the vast addiction & mental health needs in our society.  The Church in Canada must arise to the occasion and take advantage of this opportunity to minister to this need.  I am grateful for the Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries and the resources they have developed and made available to the Church for meeting this need.

Sanctuary is hosting a fundraiser called "Move for Mental Health".  All of the proceeds will go towards supporting their work to equip the Church to support mental health and wellbeing. They have several exciting projects on the way; with your support, they can make these new resources available to people around the world.

From June 12-18, along with others, I will track the minutes of my joyful movement and connect with others as together we raise awareness about mental health. My goal is to move a minimum of 630 minutes over the week, as I walk, play Pickleball, and stay active in several other ways. As a collective group, the goal is 100,000 hours of joyful activity.

The goal is to raise $100,000 to help 100,000 people with resources for mental health.  My goal is to raise $1000.  Will you consider a generous donation towards my goal and this cause?
