What we do.
Prelude Music Foundation transforms the lives and enhances the education of children in Houston through the power of music. We partner with schools in economically at-risk communities where families often lack the tools and resources to help support their children's cognitive and academic development. Utilizing the research-based music and movement curriculum Music Together®, we lead developmentally appropriate music and movement classes in PreK and Kindergarten classrooms where we support the cognitive, academic, physical, social-emotional, and musical development of children during the most formative years of their lives.

On December 10, 2014, the Prelude Music Foundation was founded with the mission to transform the lives and enhance the education of children in Houston through the power of music. In our first decade, we have brought the research-based Music Together® curriculum to more than 16,300 children in high-need communities across the city of Houston. We've served students in 25 sites in a total of 624 classrooms. As our next decade begins, we're excited to deepen our relationship with the communities we serve as we spark joy and inspire learning with our weekly in-school music classes.
