RFK Campers being welcomed the first day of camp!

Royal Family Kids' Camp is a FREE one week camp for children in foster care and group homes. Every year 60 children who have been abused and neglected come to a week of camp. Campers come from the Illinois side of the Mississippi River throughout Southern Illinois. Campers take part in horseback riding, games, singing, high ropes courses, swimming, crafts, fishing, boating, tubing, and so much more. Every evening a special activity is held for all the campers. Often times children placed in foster care have their birthday overlooked or down played. Each year at camp all 60 campers celebrate their birthday with cake, ice cream, presents, and a very special birthday party. Our goal at RFK Camp is to create positive memories, provide a loving and safe environment, and allow the healing process to begin. All campers leave the week of RFK Camp with a special photo album that is filled with pictures from the week, birthday presents, an MP3 player loaded with music, crafts they've made throughout the week, 2 camp t-shirts, a duffel bag, bible, blanket, and so much more! After camp campers have the opportunity to take part in a mentor program with their guide from the week. In order to take 60 kids to a week at RFK Camp FREE of charge we must raise $30,000.
