We had extra Thanksgiving dinners donated, so we now have enough to cover Christmas dinner as well!
Your gift of $15 will provide a Christmas Dinner to one homeless dog at Waukegan Police Animal Control. The meal will include human grade healthy meats, vegetables, and a dessert, all of which are safe for dogs. Each meal is low in salt and sugar, and is enough for a 50-60lb dog. The meals will be delivered sometime on Christmas Day, given to the dogs by the shelter staff, and photos will be taken of each dog enjoying their special treat.

Did you know that dogs in shelters can go "cage crazy"? While these innocent dogs wait to be rescued, they often spend long days in their kennel runs. Our shelter is lucky enough to have an outdoor yard to allow the dogs some extra exercise, but having plenty of enrichment items for them to chew on really helps prevent boredom and destructive behaviors which may jeopardize their chances of being pulled by a rescue! Your donation of $15 will be used to purchase a variety of safe, appropriate dog chews (such as raw beef knuckle bones, raw femur bones, rawhides, etc) that will not just entertain the dogs, but may ultimately save their lives while they wait to be rescued!!!

Your gift of $25 will provide 1 bag of cat food which will be distributed to Waukegan colony caretakers for their feral cat colonies. These caretakers are registered through Spay and Stay, and that means that all of the feral cats in their colony are fixed and vaccinated through Spay and Stay, and that these caretakers have agreed to feed these cats indefinitely. Many of our Waukegan caretakers are retirees on fixed incomes, so your gift will not only help the cats, it helps ease the burden of these dedicated caregivers. Thank you!!! We will use your gift to buy the highest quality food possible at a discounted rate.

Your $30 donation will cover the cost of materials for one shelter, which will house ~2 cats. These shelters will be provided free of charge to registered stray/feral cat colony caretakers in Waukegan who are feeding, fixing, and vaccinating stray cats who come onto their property. This is part of a TNR (trap, neuter, release) program which significantly and humanely reduces the number of homeless cats in Waukegan.
