Help prove the First 12

Many inner-city youth have real talent and positive interests. What they often lack is the chance to turn those interests into experience, income, and a clear next step.

In 2027, New World Kids is creating the first pilot program in  Seattle.  12 participants spread out over 1 year

This is the First 12.

Each participant will be matched with a mentor and a community project based on their interests. We are currently  focused on youth who may have experienced juvenile court involvement, foster care, homelessness, or limited access to opportunity.

Four pathways . Same Concept

• Ground Up: Urban Gardening + Food Systems (Indigo Azul)

• Make Your Mark: Art & Community Restoration

The goal is for each participant to gain paid experience, complete real work, build a relationship with a mentor, and leave with support and a clear next step.

What your donation supports

Donations help cover participant wages, transportation, project materials, equipment, mentor support, and program coordination.

We will measure what matters: Did the participant complete the project, earn income, learn useful skills, build a mentor relationship, and move forward?

Where it started

Our Indigo Azul Project in rural Puerto Vallarta showed us what can happen when youth are given meaningful work and a chance to contribute.

Seattle has different challenges, but our concept  is the same: connect a young person's interests to real opportunities and positive mentors who can help them grow.

We are starting with 12 so we can do it well before we grow.
