Welcome to Nautiluz! Our project is now ready to open up to the world, so we can take the next steps together. Our vision to create a regenerative learning and innovation Hub in the Algarve is coming to be. We aim to address the learning needs of the local community in regenerative and nurturing ways, supporting the transformation of our society through building strong networks and generating collaborations on many levels, both local and planetary.

Following a strong and clear mission that resonates deeply in our hearts, we are together on this great journey to realize a visionary project that is tapping into many undiscovered areas, walking paths not yet existing. We learn and grow with it as it develops. We are an ambitious and dedicated team, and we believe in a necessary shift of the way we treat our planet, how we interact with each other, and how we relate to ourselves in our full spectrum of being. This is coming into practice and taking shape organically, an evolution where different seeds grow alongside of, interdependently, and in support of, each other.

We started this project from scratch and we are so inspired by everything that has been developed already. We found the most amazing piece of land: pathways and platforms have been built through the terrain, which give access to so many hidden and magical corners, revealing the incredible potential and stunning beauty of this precious piece of nature. Several corners have already been transformed into cozy little outdoor learning spaces. A vegetable garden is already providing the team and guests with healthy nourishing food. A compost toilet has been constructed, being not only a needed infrastructure, but also an example of how to build regenerative cycles. Pedagogic activities have taken place during the summer and leave us inspired by the children's creativity, curiosity and fun engaging in real-life tasks. Parking spaces have been prepared. A beautiful website has been released. Pedagogic schedules for the upcoming year are being prepared...

We see the land as our third teacher and thus the majority of studies will happen outdoors, where our learners will be discovering, moving, interacting with nature and with each other. Yet it needs to be complemented by an indoor learning space, more quiet and protected. This will provide areas to relax, to read, to concentrate on specific tasks, to perform group projects, and it will store all the learning materials so they are constantly available. To meet these needs, but still leave our pristine land as untouched as possible, we decided to install a big geodesic dome with a diameter of 12 meters and a height of 6 meters, creating additional space on two floors for our learners and educators of about 200 square meters in total. Just the dome structure with lining, a solid door and some windows, costs 16.000€. Wooden indoor equipment, as well as all the additional infrastructure like solar panels, will add another 10.000€. 

Thanks to the remarkable donations we have received so far, as well as a sizable, interest-free-loan from a wonderful patron, we have been able to order the dome already, and the local company Eurodome is in the process of fabrication. It will be ready for us to use when we begin school on our provisional start date of 23rd September.
