At Misfit Combat, we believe in the transformative power of community through martial arts and aim to make our gym accessible to all, regardless of one’s financial situation. In alignment with this mission, Misfit Combat and our partner program, Traction Project, provide free weekly Queer Combat classes for our LGBTQ+ community members.  

We’ve seen our community grow and flourish as more people come in to train and share their stories with us. It’s been a gift to be able to create a financially accessible, safe space that provides opportunities to learn self-defense. We hear our members’ stories of harassment and are glad to help them learn skills to protect themselves while also building a supportive community. 

Over the last year, we have heard a need and desire from Queer Combat students to train more than once a week. Our goal is to expand financial accessibility to other martial arts courses offered at Misfit Combat, so that our students can continue to learn and grow with us. In order to do this, we aim to implement a tiered payment system in which members pay what they can; regardless of socio-economic status, all people will have access to physical wellness through martial arts. 

Your donation to this fundraiser will go directly towards funding tuition for individuals who wish to train with us but are unable to cover the full amount of fees. We are so grateful to you for donating any monetary amount you can, and/or sharing this with your community members. Thank you for helping us make Misfit Combat a space that is open to all.

$1500 will help us support at least 1 student for a full year.
If we surpass our goal, we will be able to support more students.
