Make Space is a co-op style ceramic and arts studio in the West King neighborhood of historic St. Augustine, FL. Founded in 2022 by Breanne Rupp, the studio has undergone multiple small transformations but as we head into our fourth summer, we are raising funds to make it the COOLEST version of this special place yet- a fully insulated and air conditioned workshop! Join us in fulfilling this hefty mission and be rewarded with studio swag, original art, or the unique experience (for you or your cool kids) of making art with us!
If you are non-local to St. Augustine and just here to support, thank you kindly! The physical PERKS are for you- meaning our studio swag packs, and original art packages. Those will be mailed out by end of Summer! If you want to donate a small amount without receiving anything in return, you can donate to our scholarship fund through that "perk" which is not tax-deductible. If you are interested in making a large, tax-deductible donation to the fund, please email hello@makespaceworkshop.com to set that up!
For locals, if you are navigating kids summer camps- thanks for bearing with us as we do it this way, this year only! Please find the camp you are interested in for your child in the list below, double check their *age range, specific dates & times, look at the corresponding price and choose that PERK to enroll your cool kid!
Camps vary from 2 days (Printmaking) to 3 days (Tues-Thurs Clay) to 4 day camps (Stop Motion M-Th, or 2 week Clay) and last 2-3 hours max. The younger students have the morning block (10-1) and the middle/high school students take over the studio from 2-4 or 2-5 PM. We keep our camps small, 10 kids or less, with extra helpers in each session for lots of one-on-one attention. Students are asked to bring a water bottle and small snack everyday. All supplies are provided for each camp with the option to bring in shirts + totes for printmaking camp, as well as tablets/ipads and props for Stop Motion- optional, not required!
For those interested in scholarships, hang tight! We have reserved spaces in each camp for those awards, and will open scholarship applications May 5.
Enrolling more than one child and/or in more than one session? It
shouldn't be an issue to add multiple PERKS but for any
troubleshooting, send us an email: hello@makespaceworkshop.com. Once your young
artist is enrolled in camp(s) via this process, you will receive an
onboarding email and confirmation within a few days.

This camp is open to beginners but especially well suited for students with some ceramic experience and their own independent ideas!
This reward tier is valid for one middle/HS age camper to attend the Wheelthrowing camp led by Herrick Smith! The first three days June 3-5, from 2-4 PM, will be spent wheelthrowing, trimming and finishing pots. The following week, students will return for one day of their choosing, June 10-12 from 2-4 PM, to glaze all their pots.

The first two days will be spent learning about the history of stop motion, analog techniques, puppetmaking, story telling, story boarding and crafting scenes. The last two days students will film & edit their own projects digitally using tablets, culminating in a movie premier at the end of the week!

Treat yourself and up to 11 of your closest friends to a private CLAY PARTAY! This perk is redeemable for up to one year after purchase- so you could use it for a small holiday party, birthday party, bachelorette, or just a wholesome old fashioned gathering! Clay parties are 3 hours long, all supplies included, you choose the project, once items are fired, our staff will clear glaze everything for pickup 2-4 weeks later. Hosts are welcome to bring any food, drinks and decor that they wish as well as control the bluetooth speaker to set the vibe.
