Asa Adirondack hasn't added a story.
It's rough out there. We live in a complicated and chaotic world. Many of us have felt helpless ~ wondering how can we make a positive difference?
You are invited to be part of a one-of-a-kind project to create a destination for peace and healing. A place that is open and free to all.
We need safe places to leave politics, identities, and issues aside. Places where we can come and rest, heal, rejuvenate and return to our lives, replenished and centered.
Two people said "Yes" to the desire to be of service to many and donated space on their 100 acres in the Adirondack Mountains to build an extraordinary tool for reducing stress and cultivating peace.
This place is a 65-foot, outdoor LEGACY LABYRINTH modeled after the one in Chartres Cathedral in France. And, while these two people have donated thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to make this a reality, it will take a village to fund it all. That's where you come in.
What is a labyrinth?
Labyrinths have been around for over 4,000 years! They are from various cultures going all the way back to petroglyphs found in Spain dated 2000 BCE. Labyrinth designs are found on ancient coins from Crete, they are found as the "Man in the Moon" labyrinth in the Hopi culture, across continents that had no connection to one another. Labyrinths were prolific across the Roman Empire and spread. The most famous one in our world today is in Chartres Cathedral, a UNESCO world heritage site. 1.5 million people travel to Chartres each year.
A labyrinth is not a maze. It has one path in, one path out, and you cannot get lost. It is a walking meditation that brings balance to the hemispheres of the brain, integrates, reduces stress, and lowers blood pressure. Walking a labyrinth has physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits.
Here are images of a few labyrinths below:

Imagine.... this labyrinth will be located on private land ~ and available to ALL ~ in the Southern Adirondack Mountains within a 4-hour drive of New York City, Boston, Montreal, Albany, Rochester, and New Jersey. That's over 30 million people. Imagine the number of people this labyrinth will serve.
The ADIRONDACK LABYRINTH (the official name) will be a place where anyone can come and walk the path in reflection, contemplation, and quiet.
Here, seekers will have that safe haven to come to.
One of our greatest tools to bring balance, peace, and healing to our community, region, and beyond, will be the Adirondack Labyrinth.
Here is an image of pilgrims walking the labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral. This labyrinth has been walked upon since the 1200s. Like France, seekers will make a point to come to walk the Adirondack Labyrinth ~ both guided and on their own ~ and in time they will come from further and further away, rippling outward the impact of peace and healing beyond these mountains. | ![]() |
![]() | The architects and hosts of this labyrinth are Christine & Larry Powers who applied to become the 7th Legacy Labyrinth. Knowing that there was a divine hand in this decision, they said YES first, having faith that the full funding to build it will come. They kicked it off with $7,000 of their own money. They are donating their time and expertise to build the ADIRONDACK LABYRINTH ~ Larry is a contractor and builder, and Christine is a professional marketer. To be transparent, the Adirondack Labyrinth needs a village to fund the labyrinth in its entirety. The time is NOW. Volunteers are coming from all over the United States in July 2022 to build the bulk of the labyrinth. Hand-made with 2,000 stones and boulders, poured concrete, crushed blue stone, and grass, and built by the hearts and hands of volunteers, tractors, and excavators, this labyrinth will be unparalleled in setting, design, and construction. It will host seekers, school field trips, pilgrims, and vacationers; and will be the site of workshops for peace, growth, grieving, and celebrations. Here, we will be able to return to nature to become whole once again.

Please contribute any amount. If this is not possible right now, sharing this campaign is awesome too!
Several notes:
- Any physical contributions are welcome too, such as a tree, materials, picnic table, volunteer time, etc.
- Any contribution can be transferred to someone else as a gift.
- Note that donations are not currently tax-deductible. Your money will be going to Asa Adirondack, a for-profit company, but this is a not-for-profit community outreach venture of this company.
- Businesses can buy a brick, workshop, or event and that can be deductible as a business advertising expense.
- Please consult your accounting professional on how to leverage any contribution in relation to your business.
It will take $19,550 more to build the Adirondack Labyrinth. Over $7,000 has already been invested.
Every amount is welcomed and cherished. Every contributor of all sizes will be listed on the Adirondack Labyrinth website.
