Back in March, just after the war in Ukraine started, I was in Krakow and saw first hand the immediate impact, where the city had grown by 25% in only a couple of weeks. Our Pega team in Poland had been working hard to open office space and converting derelict houses to house the refugees. Many of our team have also opened up their homes. When you see women and children fleeing their homes, without husbands or fathers, it really hits home. This is a war, a war most of us thought we'd never see the likes again.
The London to Paris ride to raise funds for a local Polish charity dedicated to helping the Ukrainian people. The support mobilised on the ground has all been grass roots which is why we felt it's important to support the local charity our local team in Krakow selected.
The ride is both physical and virtual. While the in person ride is at capacity, everyone is welcome to the virtual ride. For the virtual ride, you can ride along in the comfort of your gym, home, or local roads, join a team and do it together, or as a relay. Even though you may not hear about it as much anymore, the war in
Ukraine rages on, with a huge impact on the daily lives of millions of
people. Continuing with the Pega tradition of helping those in need, a
group of us will cycle from London to Paris to raise funds for
Fundacja Widowisk Masowych, which is a charity close to one of our
Polish employees. Every day they load from 4 to 7 trucks weighing 20
tons and send them across the border from Poland to Ukraine, providing
medicines and protective gear for those in need!
This is a small gesture compared to the overall situation but
will have a real impact on the lives of dozens, if not hundreds of
people and your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
