Last year, Central Alberta Youth Unlimited hosted their first annual Hike For Hope. The event was created and named to align with the goal Central Alberta Youth Unlimited strives to meet: to bring hope and wholeness to youth in Central Alberta.
On September 23rd, a group will be hiking Mount Coliseum together, all in advocacy of CAYU/YFC staff and/or programs that are geared to bring hope and wholeness to youth in Central Alberta.
The money raised goes right back into our communities, and supports the work of the dedicated and passionate staff of Central Alberta Youth Unlimited/YFC who are at work in the lives of youth.
As a fun bonus and incentive, any hiker who successfully raises at least $250 for the CAYU staff or program they are hiking in advocacy for, their fundraising will be matched with an additional $250! And, any hiker who raises at least $500, their fundraising will be matched with $500 instead of $250!
Information for Hikers:
- Location of
the Trailhead: From highway 11, turn onto Range Rd. 152A (Shunda
Creek Rd.), then Baldy Road, then Eagle Road. At the end of Eagle
Road, you'll find the parking lot for the trailhead.
- Hikers
will receive snacks for them to enjoy over the hike!
- Hikers
are welcome to bring their families to join them for the hike!
(Anticipate the hike taking about 5 hours, and some steep switchback elevation)
**Note: Upon completing online giving, FundRazr will provide the
opportunity to add a tip to your donation.
This tip goes
towards covering FundRazr's processing fees associated with PayPal.

How does it work?
On September 23rd, you have the opportunity to hike on behalf of your friend/family member who works with CAYU. By hiking, you have the opportunity to take advantage of some fund matching to help your efforts multiply even more! For each individual hiker, if they are able to raise $250, it will be matched with another $250, OR if they make it to $500 raised, it’ll be matched with $500!
This year’s Hike for Hope takes place at Coliseum Mountain, just north of Nordegg, Alberta. Closer to the day of hike you will receive more details regarding time, meeting location, etc.
** If you are interested in hiking, but are unable to attend this
specific hike event, please reach out to events@cayu.ca with a request for doing your own
hike, but to still utilize our online platform. We’ll do our best to
work something out.
