Like so many others, the St Jerome’s
team has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The cost of living
in Kenya has sky-rocketed, meaning our budget is dwindling for basic
needs such as food, education and home repairs.
But! As ever we continue to look for ways to overcome the many
problems we face. The St Jerome’s Hen House is our latest venture,
which we hope will:
1. Provide a regular source of much-needed protein for our growing children
2. Benefit the local community, selling eggs at a fair price
3. Ensure a sustainable income for St Jerome’s expenses
Our volunteers will be working with local carpenters over the
next few weeks to build coops for 50 chickens. Each hen will have
ample nesting space and the freedom to peck out in the open.
To avoid further budget debts, we’re asking for your kind support to help make this happen. We're seeking donations and also offering product rewards, which are sourced from the local Maasai Market in Nakuru. By purchasing their products, you'll be supporting the venders and donating to our hen house cause- win, win!
