GreenCrate Pilot Project Information Pack
Introduction:
GreenCrate, in partnership with Fundrazr, is launching a pilot
project aimed at serving under-served areas in Fisanterkraal,
Kraaifontein, Cape Farms, Brackenfell, and Bellville. This
initiative focuses on alleviating poverty, social inequality, and
addressing severe micro plastic pollution in these communities.
Project Overview:
The pilot project will utilize funds raised through the fundrazr
platform to acquire essential resources such as Tuk tuks, glass and
plastic crushers, brick and paving moulds. Additionally, the funds
will be allocated towards setting up the GreenCrate Solutions (GCS)
website and application platforms.
Impact and Objectives:
- Alleviating Poverty: By creating job opportunities, the project aims to uplift the economic status of individuals in the target areas.
- Social Inequality: Providing employment and skills development will contribute to reducing social disparities and fostering community empowerment.
- Environmental Impact: The project will combat micro plastic pollution by implementing recycling and waste management solutions.
Utilization of Funds:
- Acquisition of Equipment: Tuk tuks, glass and plastic crushers, brick and paving moulds will be purchased to support recycling and infrastructure development.
- Website and Application Development: Setting up the GCS digital platforms to facilitate community engagement, project monitoring, and information dissemination.
- Job Creation: The funds will create 12 permanent and 10 temporary jobs, offering employment opportunities and skills training.
Expansion Plans:
The success of the pilot project will pave the way for
establishing expansion hubs in other areas of the Western Cape,
South Africa, and eventually across the African continent. These
hubs will replicate the model of sustainable development and
environmental stewardship initiated by GreenCrate Solutions.
