Imagine an entire island with nowhere to turn when an animal is hurting, starving, or abandoned. For decades, the Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) at Lowthers Lane, St. George’s, has been that shield. They are the ONLY registered non-profit animal shelter and veterinary clinic on the entire island of Grenada caring for dogs and cats.
When a box of helpless, abandoned puppies is left on the side of the road, the GSPCA takes them in. When a stray cat is injured, their heroic professional veterinary surgeons treat them. With a tiny, fiercely dedicated staff and a handful of selfless volunteers, they managed to treat over 5,400 patients in 2025 alone.
But right now, the GSPCA is facing its own critical emergency.
The Crisis: Temporary Closure Starts 07 July 2026
The GSPCA receives no funding from the government, nor is it funded by the local university. For years, they have survived entirely on the goodwill of independent donors and the minimal fees generated by clinic services.
Between a massive rise in complex medical cases, a spike in abandoned litters, and the urgent need to secure a sustainable funding model, the clinic is being forced to temporarily close its doors starting Tuesday, 07 July 2026.
While the clinic services must pause, the crisis doesn’t stop. There are currently 90 dogs and cats living inside the shelter right now. The GSPCA is absolutely committed to feeding, sheltering, and loving these 90 animals through this dark period—but they cannot do it without immediate financial help.
Where Your Money Goes
We cannot allow Grenada's only safety net for animals to disappear forever. Every single penny raised from this emergency campaign will go directly toward keeping the lights on and the animals fed. Your donations will fund:
-
Critical Food & Medicine: For the 90 rescue animals currently staying at the shelter.
-
Basic Shelter Operations: Ensuring the facility can maintain power, clean water, and security while they restructure.
-
The Path to Reopening: Helping fund the recruitment of veterinary staff and bridging the gap so the clinic can open its doors again as soon as possible.
Transparency Note (Who I Am)
Because FundRazr and international banking require specific regional setups, I am organizing this fundraiser from the UK to ensure we can collect global donations seamlessly. 100% of the funds raised here (minus standard platform processing fees) will be transferred directly to the GSPCA’s official bank account in Grenada. I will post public updates, bank transfer receipts, and photos here on the page so you can see exactly how your money is saving lives.
To help raise money, my aim is to walk, cycle and/or swim for 4,300 miles in just over a year... the distance from London to Grenada, in a bid to help the shelter!

SHARE: Please share this link with EVERYONE, animal lovers, your friends, and your family.
The GSPCA has been the voice for the voiceless in Grenada for decades. Today, they need us to be their voice. Please help us keep their doors open and ensure Grenada's animals are never left behind.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of the 90 four-legged residents at the GSPCA (and hopefully all the future fluffy rescues too!) .
