Back in 2001 we began rescuing horses who had been abandoned to die tied to a tree in the jungle, however, people began to leave newborn puppies and kittens at the gate. hence the name animal sanctuary. As the word spread, we bean to get red alerts about abandoned and neglected dogs and cats. We got a call about two mini pigs and a local breed of pig who were bought as pets, and when they grew the were not wanted anymore. Even Chihuahua dogs who had been used for breeding and then dumped at the side of the road.  The sanctuary is their last hope, as they all find a permanent home! Only when the perfect person is found dogs have been given for adoption. They sing a contract committing themselves to care for them, and IF for some valid reason they are no longer able. They can return them to the sanctuary. So far all six of them are very much loved and cared for. It costs 300 USD per week just to feed them. We have one horse, three pigs and just under 30 dogs and 15 cats
