Due to the current COVID-19 crisis and the VAST amount of people in this community who have lost or are in danger of losing their jobs, we are already seeing an increased number of pet food assistance requests. We generally donate our surplus food to partner pet food pantries in order to keep pets in their homes. Often the inability to feed pets during a time of crisis is the only thing between an animal staying in their home or being surrendered to the shelter. While we do have a small surplus supply in shelter to assist some, we do not have enough food in stock to help all of the residents of Madison County that are ultimately going to need our help. I fully understand that there could not be a worse time to ask for donations, however, if you are in a position to help us purchase dog and cat food so that we can come together and help our most vulnerable Madison County residents feed their animals, so they are not forced to surrender them to the shelter, we would be incredibly grateful.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at adavis@madisoncountync.gov, or call me at 828.649.3190. If you prefer not to donate online, checks can be mailed to 389 Long Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753. We can also send you the link to our Amazon Wishlist, however, there may be a delay in shipment due to recent policies implemented by Amazon. Thank you again for all that you do for the animals of Madison County. We could not help them like we do without your support!
