Socrates Prep was born from the captive imagination of students, mothers, fathers, and educators who longed for a school that recognizes each young child as unique and precious. Socrates Prep is a creative platform where children are empowered to discover their talents and nurture their dreams. We believe that an education that stimulates the intellect and cultivates the whole child must begins with self-discovery and self-appreciation.
Though we were founded in 2012, our grounds and buildings are from a previous school dating back to the 1970s, and most of our existing playground equipment is from this era, some of which just can't be used at all.
Buidling a new playground is expensive and is not a cost our small school can bear alone. We need to remove some of the old, unsafe structures, refurbish the existing structure, and we would like to add a new central playground structure and some swings.
In the past five years, we have renovated the interior of our classrooms to mirror our philosophy and provide our children with a physical facility that will inspire them to learn.
Today, we are reaching out to you, our community, family and friends, to help us realize the renovation of our outdoor play area and playground equipment. A plethora of credible research has been conducted on the benefits of play and learning and on the social, emotional and intellectual development of our children.
