Imagine a nurturing school nestled in the majestic mountains of Ollantaytambo, Cusco, a place where children's laughter echoes and curiosity blossoms. This school—a vital spark for the community— exists and needs you to secure its future.
The stakes are immense : more than 70% of children in Ollantaytambo are already falling behind in their education. Without intervention, they will be unprepared to face critical challenges like the accelerating climate crisis. In the last two decades alone, we've seen over 16,000 hectares of precious land wiped out by droughts and fires. This devastation is a consequence we know too well, and it affects everyone's quality of life.
We refuse to let hope fade. We are a group of parents and educators who have united to form a non-profit association with the main goal of providing continuity to this school under a new name, "Corazón del Bosque" , which aims to be the first green school in Peru.
Our vision is to empower children as agents of change , preparing them for life and to contribute to solving the environmental and social challenges of their community; in a space where their individuality is valued and their curiosity is nurtured, reaffirming them as courageous leaders who will heal and protect our planet for this and future generations. This is where the love for the Earth meets education.

What is the main goal of this campaign?
The goal of the campaign is to raise 50 thousand dollars for the operation and equipment of the Corazón del Bosque school, located in Ollantaytambo, which will provide a quality education to local children.
Why is a new school necessary in this area?
There is currently no school in Ollantaytambo that provides an alternative education. Adding to this is the fact that almost 80% of local children do not achieve the expected learning outcomes for their age. This school will provide a quality education that respects their individuality, values their ideas, and helps them turn those ideas into reality. It will empower them as agents of change in an environment where they can be happy.
Who will be the direct beneficiaries of the project?
The direct beneficiaries in the first year will be around 50 children from initial (pre-school/kindergarten) and primary education in Ollantaytambo, and to a lesser extent, from Urubamba.
Is it a public, private, or NGO-managed school?
It will be a community-managed school, operated by our NGO, Asociación Educativa Corazón del Bosque. Our model seeks to build an educational proposal that can be shared with public schools and teachers to contribute to the community.
What is the total amount needed to be raised, and where will my money go?
In this first campaign, we need to raise 50 thousand dollars. The contributions we receive will be allocated to the school's operation: paying trained and motivated teachers, resources and materials for the children, implementing STEM rooms, a reading room, purchasing technological resources, and most importantly, paying the tuition fees for the children to make quality education accessible to all.
What happens if the fundraising goal is not met?
This campaign uses the "Keep It All" (KIA) model. If we do not reach the goal, the funds raised will be allocated to cover the most critical phase of the project, such as the tuition fees for the scholarship students, and we will seek additional funding for the subsequent phases. Your donation will always be used for the project.
How will transparency in the use of funds be guaranteed?
We will publish a detailed financial report at the end of the campaign and upon the conclusion of each stage. All donors will be invited to receive a periodic newsletter with project updates by leaving their email address.
What organization is behind this campaign?
The campaign is driven by the non-profit organization Asociación Educativa Corazón del Bosque, registered in Peru with RUC 20614635879. It was formed by a group of parents who fell in love with the school and refused to let it disappear after seeing the potential and happiness it brought to so many children and what it can do for many more.
Is it possible to visit the school?
Once the school is operational, we will have an educational tourism program which will be provided through the tourism agencies working in the area, where people can volunteer and visit the school. We will be announcing these updates in the newsletter sent to donors and on our social media channels.
What are the rewards for donating?
Donors will receive a virtual postcard with images of the school and a thank you message from the children. We believe this school will be the fruit of a collective effort; therefore, we will recognize our major donors on a mural that we will create with the children so that everyone knows who contributed their grain of sand to making this dream a reality.
