What We Buried began as a question we couldn’t shake: What happens when the past refuses to stay quiet?

Years ago, something went wrong at a summer camp tucked deep in the woods. A boy disappeared. The official story called it an accident. The truth was messier - and it never stopped echoing for the people who were there.

This film follows four friends, now in their twenties, who return to the abandoned camp for what’s meant to be a simple reunion. The place is rotting. The trails are overgrown. And the memories they buried as kids are closer to the surface than they’re willing to admit. As night falls, strange disturbances creep in - half-heard voices, familiar songs, footsteps where no one should be. Guilt, paranoia, and grief begin to blur together until no one is certain what’s real… or who can be trusted.

What We Buried is a slow-burn, character-driven supernatural horror film about shared secrets and the cost of surviving them. It’s less about jump scares and more about the quiet, suffocating terror of memory - how trauma reshapes the stories we tell ourselves, and what happens when those stories collapse.

This project matters to us because it treats horror as something intimate and human. The fear doesn’t come from monsters in the dark - it comes from knowing you played a part in something terrible, and realizing you can’t outrun it forever. The woods don’t judge these characters. They remember them.

We’ve already proven the concept with a short film that found an organic audience online, showing that people connect to this story and its tone. Now we’re ready to expand it into a full feature: a contained, emotionally charged horror film designed to be made lean, smart, and with care.
