Meet Simona of Romania~
So many animals are strays on the base. Life for a stray is hard. PRM has been rescuing from this location for over 10 years and the stories are so amazing. MK may not be a war zone but these military men and women are there in support of our allies.
Simona was spotted by soldiers with her litter mates. They said he (turned out to be a she) had a broken leg. They were not really able to get close to her because the litter mates were protecting her. She would limp off and then the litter mates would follow. They were struggling finding food. Some of her litter mates were rescued and adopted by soldiers. But lucky for this hurt puppy a State Department employee serving there decided to get her to a vet. Turned out she had a broken leg and it was so badly infected they could not save the leg. She was extremely shy. She is now in the USA with a wonderful foster mom who has helped her come so far. She now plays with the other dogs. Everyday she gets better at trusting the world. Now is the time to get her a prosthetic so she can run like the others with out falling. The hope is to alleviate her getting arthritis thru the years using her good front leg too much.
