In order to ensure that Englewood House will be a place for all, we are raising additional funds to assure handicapped access to all meeting rooms and exhibition spaces, as well as common areas, including installation of an elevator.  We need your continued support to make this happen!

Why is this opportunity important and unique? It will enable the Historical Society to centralize its collection of documents, artifacts, and ephemera, making them accessible to residents in ways not currently possible. Englewood House (previously known as the Taylor-Bliss House) will be a venue for exhibits, meetings, performances, lectures, and many other community events. Englewood House will be a destination for celebrating the diverse cultural history of our city, showcasing our hometown heroes and enabling future generations to draw inspiration from the richness of our past. Steeped in local and national history, this Second Empire Victorian building is one of the few structures with a fourth story tower and distinctive architectural details remaining in Bergen County. And the only one in Englewood!It’s the perfect setting in which to honor our past and envision our shared future.
