45 Weeks running

One of the side effects of having a Sanctuary full of little old dogs is the massive amount of laundry generated on a daily basis. Where an ordinary household of 4 might expect to do 7 or so loads of laundry a week, the Sanctuary does at least 3 times that. We do approximately 24 large loads a week for a total of 1248 a year.  The average life of a washing machine, based on 7 loads of laundry a week, is 11 years. By that reasoning we should be going through a washer every 3.6 years.

Our current machine has been a champion with almost 6 years under its lid but it's finally wearing out. The bearings are going and the pump that drains the machine is wearing out.

Ordinarily this would be an inconvenience... The Humans would grumble, pop over to Lowes, miraculously find a discounted dents and dings washer, purchase it and haul it back to install.

Right now though the Humans are single income with the Human Scribe still doggedly searching for employment. (70 applications and counting, thrown at the wall like spaghetti, hoping something will stick.) They simply do not have the ability to purchase a washing machine to replace the one that is dying.

We hate to ask for anything that isn't vet funding or dog food but we cannot be without a sizeable top load washing machine.  So we're asking if our followers can chip in a bit to help us keep it clean around here.
