Ohana Rescue hasn't added a story.
"The animals in a rescue is no ones responsibility except
the rescues. It is not the communities responsibility to help care
for those animals." so I keep being told.
Then who is responsible for all the animals that go hungry,
animals that do not have a safe place to sleep, water, food? Where
does the responsibility lie? Who should help?
Could you imagine the streets if animals were left to wonder
looking for food, shelter, and water...much less a soft touch that
lets them k
now they are not alone?
We all have some good in our
hearts, it doesn't matter who you are, or your life experiences..WE
ALL HAVE SOME GOOD INSIDE.
When a human opens their home to
animals in need, it really makes a statement in my opinion. The
rescuers most likely have been in need of rescuing themselves, and
can understand the fear of not having anyone that lets them know,
that they are special enough to care.
It takes a special kind of person to look at these poor
suffering animals and step in to try and make a difference...then
you have the people that so want to help but do not have the
environment to help, the property or the physical ability. Those
people are called supporters, donors, volunteers. All four are the
same type people...BIG HEARTS...rescuers, donors, supporters, and
volunteers.
There are all kinds of emergencies that happen in a
rescue world, animals coming in, animals staying, animals needing
medical, and then the emergency, as the facility is breaking
down..so what is a rescuer to do? Boot the animals out because the
facility doesn't have emergency funds to fix the facility, close
their doors, or does the rescuer reach out to the others in this
rare group, to the donors, supporters.
Our facility is in a
state of emergency again..6 wks ago, well got struck by lightening,
fried main breaker, without power for days until the part came in..
we barely skimmed by, but then we received a generous donation that
made sure that the animals needs were taken care of..
Now fast
forward 6 wks, our ac unit fan motor fried. I have been working on
it for 5 days now, still no ac, and it is dangerously hot inside the
house. We took fans from the stalls and put them into the house for
the animals that live inside, and the humans of course. Through
friends of friends and more friends we are able to get a motor and
two capacitors for one price, and because the labor will be done
here, there will be no labor costs..You see, being a rescuer we
never get paid for any of the work that we do...our reward, our pay,
is seeing the love in the eyes of the animals that KNOW they will be
taken care of, will have their needs met, and no longer have to feel
as if no one cares.
I am asking you if you fit under the title,
A RESCUER? You yourself rescue every time you donate, because
without you, there would be no rescues.
