The Jill Nizen Memorial Fund hasn't added a story.
Soft spoken with a beautiful big smile, Jill Nizen was taken from us way too early.
On April 14th, 2017, the NHS Class of '86 lost a very special member of our class. Jill Nizen was a friend to all - a gentle kind soul always with a smile on her face.
Despite the obstacles placed in her path like being like being born with Spina Bifida, and being confined to a wheelchair, Jill was a survivor, and a fighter. Her courage and tenacity for life was felt and appreciated by all who knew her. She lived the best life she could always fighting for others bests interests. Her pure heart and unconditional love for all humanity was truly inspiring, and may she find peace with the Angels.
To honor Jill and all that she meant to so many of us, we (The Class
of 86) are raising money in her name, for a memorial for her within
the project being created at the new High School by the Nyack Tower
Fund. Depending on how much is raised, we will sponsor a memorial
bronze plaque or bench for Jill with her name and picture on it at the
new Nyack High School.
Please use this page to donate in honor of Jill. The Nyack Tower
Fund will combine all of our gifts to maximize the recognition item we
get (brick, plaque, bench, etc.) but by using this page, your
individual gift will be 100% tax deductible to the fullest extent
permitted by law.
Additionally, Dan Berkowitz, ('88) President of the Nyack Tower
Fund, has also offered anyone who contributes at least $250 in honor of Jill, their own personal brick as
well. So if you were planning on giving a donation for a $250 for an
Alumni brick anyway, you will still get your $250 brick, and the
entirity of your donation will go to Jill's memorial.
Our deadline for donations in Jill's name is May 1st, so please
make a gift today and feel free to reach out to Dan (917-826-0850)
with any questions regarding the Nyack Tower Fund.
If you have any questions regarding the memorial itself, you can contact Karin O'Shea at (845) 642-2579, or email me at kosheastudio@gmail.com
Thank you in advance for your generosity, and please feel free to share this on your Facebook wall for other friends of Jill to see.
Karin Oshea (Class of 86)
Your Donation will make it possible for a Memorial Bench in Jill's name that will be placed in the pathway of the new complex at the High School.
