After Russia invaded Ukraine, hacks against Russia and its
allies increased. There are now multiple hacks a week, and the
wealth of data coming out from the attacks is increasing.
Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets) has been receiving many
of these leaks. We review the data, looking for public interest, and
then help relevant datasets reach a broader audience by publishing
torrents and adding them to our search engine.
DDoSecrets published 1 Belarusian dataset in February, 7
Russian datasets in March, 20+ Russian or Belarusian datasets in
April, and 3 Russian datasets in May, so far. The datasets include:
- 817gb from Roskomnadzor, agency that monitors and censors mass media
- 79gb from Transneft, world's largest oil pipeline company, state-controlled
- 15gb from Rosatom, the state nuclear energy agency and major exported of uranium
- 2.4gb from RostProekt, a construction company
- 110gb from MashOil, manufacturer for the drilling, mining, and fracking industries
- 22gb from the Central Bank of Russia
- 5.9gb from Thozis Corp, investment firm owned by a billionaire
- 52gb from Marathon Group, another investment firm owned by another billionaire
- 15gb from the Russian Orthodox Church's charitable wing
- 65gb from Capital Legal Services, mostly emails from a law firm that works on mergers and acquisitions, anti-trust, real estate and project financing
- 483gb from Mosekspertiza, a state-owned firm that consults with businesses
- 786gb from VGTRK, state-owned broadcaster that runs dozens of TV/radio stations
- 145gb from Aerogas, in the oil and gas industry
- 116gb from the Tver Governor's office
- 150gb from the city of Blagoveshchensk
- 446gb from the federal Ministry of Culture
- 221gb from the education department of Strezhevoy
- 440gb from Technotec, in the oil and gas industry
- 726gb from Gazprom Linde Engineering, an oil and gas manufacturing joint venture
- 400gb from Continent Express, a travel agency owned by a billionaire
- 222gb from Gazregion, a gas pipeline construction company
- 107gb from Neocom Geoservice, an oil, gas, and drilling engineering firm
- 1.2gb from Synesis Surveillance System
- 9.5gb from the General Dept. of Troops and Civil Construction (works with ministry of defense)
- 160gb from Tendertech, a financial and banking processing firm
- 130gb from Worldwide Invest, an investment fund
- 211gb from Accent Capital, a commercial real estate firm
- 1.7tb from Elektrocentromontazh, Russia's power grid company
- 542gb from PSCB one of Russia's 100 wealthiest banks
- 20.4gb from LLC Capital, SAFMAR Group's accounting firm
- 302gb from McLanahan Russia, a subsidiary of a United States fracking and agricultural manufacturing firm

DDoSecrets also has dozens of other datasets in the works, awaiting publication. We sometimes make embargoed data available for investigation by journalist networks and international human rights researchers ahead of publication. And we want to extract and index the most interesting Russian emails in a new section on our site.
