Meet Rio! Found by Waterbury Police abandoned in a crate in a basement with no food or water, Rio spent a week at the vet before coming into Karuna's care. Estimated to be 18 months old by the vet, Rio is only 35 pounds. We're attributing his low weight and underdeveloped muscles to his confinement and lack of good nutrition. Everything seems new to Rio and we are entirely grateful to have a wonderful foster family to introduce him to a life full of love.

Rio has already had a full wellness exam and all of his vaccines, and will be scheduled for his neuter shortly. Karuna continues to help dogs like Rio in need and even the healthiest of pups are costly to vet. Please consider making a donation - no matter how small - to help keep us going!
