💧 Help Us Bring Fresh Water to Our Outdoor Haven Enclosures 💧
At Ingrid’s Haven, the wellbeing of our cats is always the priority — especially for the cats living in our outdoor haven enclosures, where constant access to clean, fresh water is essential for their health and comfort.
We are fundraising for a much-needed infrastructure upgrade to install auto-filling water troughs in our outdoor enclosures, improving daily welfare for the cats while significantly reducing the physical workload placed on our volunteers.
🐾 What we’re raising funds for
- Auto-filling water troughs in 9 active outdoor haven enclosures
- Two (2) × 7.8-litre troughs installed in each enclosure to ensure redundancy and uninterrupted access
- Water piping installed to 5 currently inactive outdoor enclosures, ready for future repairs and reopening
- A water tank (minimum 5,000 L) — we are actively seeking a donated or low-cost tank
- If a suitable donated tank cannot be sourced, an additional $2,000 has been included to help purchase a new 10,000-litre water tank
💙 Why this project matters
Currently, volunteers must:
- Carry water by hand to each outdoor enclosure
- Empty, scrub, and refill multiple bowls every day
- Repeat this process more often during hot weather
This work is physically demanding and time-consuming, placing strain on our small volunteer team and pulling time away from hands-on care.
With auto-filling systems in place, we can:

- ✅ Reduce contamination and stagnant water
- ✅ Ensure backup water access with dual troughs
- ✅ Significantly reduce manual lifting and repetitive strain
- ✅ Free up volunteer time for cleaning, enrichment, and health checks
- ✅ Better protect cats from dehydration and heat stress
