Fatbiking is a fun new winter activity that is taking off in many communities all around BC. Here in Revelstoke, we're just getting started!
The development of a groomed winter trail network would provide yet another outlet for local families and outdoor enthusiasts to get out and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle during the winter months. It would also provide yet another incredible avenue for visitors to enjoy the snow, the fresh mountain air, and the beautiful surroundings that Revelstoke is known for.
The machine that we'll be purchasing is called a "SnowDog." It's the exact machine currently being used with much success in Rossland, Fernie, Invermere, and more. It is proving to be the perfect tool for the job! Check out the photos below or visit the company website here: https://snowdog.com/
We have a team of volunteers in place and we have permissions to groom a new trail loop at the Revelstoke Golf Club as well as the lower MacPherson Trails network. There's also potential for development near the greenbelt and river flats as well as the area around Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Williamson's Lake. Heck, Maybe we'll even groom Flowdown! We've also been in talks with Parks Canada who are working towards grooming a double wide track on the 2k and 5k loops as well as on the road up to Monashee Lookout.
