My name is Jay Huffstutler and I’m one of the Pastors at Grace Fellowship, a church located in Vail, AZ. Our church is a giving church, demonstrated by service to our community and to the Vail School District. Over the past six years, our church has provided:

• Over 6000 meals to hungry children here in Vail through our Back-Pack Program;
• 6 basketball camps, 3 football camps, 1 soccer camp, and 1 volleyball camp, ALL absolutely free to all the children;
• Gift baskets to every firefighter in the Rincon Valley Fire District;
• Free carnivals for meet your teacher night at Acacia and Ocotillo Ridge Elementary;
• Painted classrooms and the gym at Old Vail Middle;
• Installed railroad tie steps in the 6th grade area at Old Vail Middle;
• Fed the staffs at Old Vail Middle, Acacia Elementary, and the District Office.

Our vision is to build a Community Center in the heart of Vail. A place that kids can come to after school to hang out; shoot basketball, watch a movie, get homework help; a safe place for kids to gather. So many of our kids go home to an empty house afterschool, and statistics tell us that the hours between 3:00pm and 5:00pm are the most vulnerable for our kids.

We also know there is a need for a place for the community to gather; a playground, a walking track, a room for recitals and meetings. We believe we are to help provide the resources needed and provide needed resources for the Vail Community.

Just over a year ago, our church bought the Kelley Property, located right behind the water tower on Colossal Cave Road, across the road from Old Vail Middle School. We are currently engaged in Phase 1, renovating a home on the property creating a small chapel that can seat 100 people with a children’s area. This process has been enlightening for the building process. We have to invest into a several items that are for the infrastructure of phase 1 and for the larger center to be built. This is where we need your help.

There are significant costs that we need your help with. We have to install an 8” water line with a fire hydrant and sprinkler system. We also have to install a needed asphalt drive entrance/exit off of Colossal Cave Road. We are looking to raise $50,000 to cover the costs. We need financial help to make our vision become reality here in Vail. We have served the community of Vail since the inception of Grace Fellowship, and that will continue.
