Meet the Farrish Family. Just months after getting married, bringing their children together - five in all - and purchasing a home in Crozet, they discovered that their septic tank and field had failed. They faced a situation that threatened their health and home. And they simply could not afford to cover the $7,000 public sewer hook-up fee, or the additional $7,000 worth of excavation and plumbing work needed.

They called AHIP for help. We were able to come out and fix the septic and plumbing issues with the help of our wonderful supporters, business partners, donors, and other AHIP champions!

Without AHIP, where would they be? Time after time, we field calls from local families facing problems that would be largely invisible to the outside world: roofs, floors, windows, access ramps, electrical and plumbing systems, water, hot water, heat, and much more. Such modest things, and yet, they cannot afford to fix these repairs on their own.
