WeMakeStuff Volume 02, the second book in the groundbreaking series, introduces us to a new group of 100 Vancouver and BC based artists and innovators. Through the lens of different creative initiatives, this stunning coffee-table book showcases the amazing work and thoughts of this amazing talent.

We all have the opportunity to make something of the world. The artists and innovators featured in Volume 02 are culture-makers creating films, designs, dances, instruments, songs, symphonies, poems, paintings, products, books, businesses, tea, coffee, commentaries, lingerie, swimwear, sculptures, social movements... creating meaning and beauty in a volatile world. Many of the artists involved share the common values of life and love taught by Jesus.

How you can make it happen.

We need to raise $38,000 to print a minimum run of 1,000 books – 256 pages, 9"w x 9"h full-color book printed at Hemlock Printing on the highest quality, fully sustainable paper. This publication is a piece of art in itself.

We're using a local Vancouver crowdfunding platform called Fundrazr (functions the same as Kickstarter or Indiegogo).To the right, you can click on "Contribute" or select a "perk" to choose whether you want to pre-order our softcover or hardcover edition, make a donation, sponsor the book or add a t-shirt or notebook to your order. Follow the instructions as prompted (make sure to add the "shipping perk" if you require shipping) to complete payment.

If we don't raise the minimum $38,000 by October 15 the book will not go to print and you will be refunded for your contribution.

When will I get my book?

WeMakeStuff Volume 02 will go to print immediately after our crowdfunding campaign ends, with the books delivered in November of this year, just in time to go under the Christmas tree. There will be a number of pick-up points for the book in the Lower Mainland starting in late November. If you would like your book mailed to you, please ADD SHIPPING by claiming the shipping “perk” and calculating your shipping costs.

Why make a book?

There is power in coming together to create something new, something tangible, something you can hold in your hand. For us, the process of making a book with 100 people is more important than the actual product. It is this collaborate creative act that rallies a community, affirms individual artists and ultimately inspires the much wider audience of people who receive the completed book.

About WeMakeStuff

WeMakeStuff exists to affirm the vocation of Canadian artists and innovators by documenting what the Creator is already doing through creative people.

In the fall of 2012 WeMakeSuff successfully raised $43,000 in a crowdfunding campaign to publish Volume 01. That November hundreds of artists and non-artists alike were engaged through a two-week book-tour through the Lower Mainland, stopping at churches, studios, and cafes. Regular Studio Series events in Vancouver have continued to rally the local creative community over the past two years. Volume 02 is the exciting next chapter in our journey together.
