Mélanie Elliott

Actress and photographer, Melanie works primarily in film and TV working in both French and English. Since 2000, she has worked on 7 independent feature films. Inspired, and driven to explore, create and share, Melanie continues to push the envelope and cross boundaries, behind and in front of the camera. Starring in the lead role of Dorothy in the experimental The Nomads of Oz, the film won the 2013 Canada International Film Festival Royal Reel Award as well as the Best Experimental Feature at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival 2013.

Chris Aitkens

At a young age, Chris knew he wanted to be an actor. Starting with Christmas pageants and high school drama class. A talent agent landed him a small role in the TV series, Durham County. Since graduating Dawson in 2012, Chris took on roles ranging from a murderous Cockney psychopath in Lunduntown to a singing circus-freak in the sold-out rock opera, Johnny Legdick. Chris has also performed all around Montreal and its surrounding areas over the years, playing trumpet alongside a handful of ska bands or yelling incoherently in a hardcore punk band.

Music around the WORLD!

PUNK bands from around the world have responded very enthusiastically to place their music in our film. There are 20 bands from places like, Argentina, Austria, Canada, Germany, UK, USA & Sweden. Once the film is funded and shot, a double CD and double album vinyl pressing of the music sound track is being offered to assist in raising the money for the film.

The movie score will be created by:

J Deeh is a critically acclaimed artist, musician, filmmaker, actor, performer, dj and writer. He is currently the frontman for The Scroll. He also scores for film and television. J Deeh wrote and directed two independent features, Affinity Point and Do You Truss Me? Affinity Point earned a nomination to the Best Feature Film in Focus category of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma in 2010.

People have asked before, Why PUNK never gets a honest representation in movies (just BS sterotypes)? Well as President of Dead Ringer Movies, I think its because the right people were not involved.

Dead Ringer Movies' team in PUNK NOIR?

Jonny Scribe is the original screenplay writer, he is punk and many of the Cast & Crew are punkers themselves and perhaps this is what has called them to join me to make this film.

Original Screenplay - Jonny Scribe

Jonny Scribe is a Montreal screenwriter. Punk Noir is his first written screenplay. He's been a huge fan of punk rock as well as movies since he was a teenager. Since High School he's told people he would one day be a filmaker and now, at the age of thirty-three, it's becoming a reality. He comes from a French-Canadian family and english is actually his second language. He says his paternal Grandfather could not read or write let alone speak english! Thanks to his father, who worked as a lineman in the United States for eleven years, it granted Jonny the right to attend english school in Quebec in the eighties. As a screenwriter, Jonny wants to write original screenplays that are both influential as well as entertaining in both english as well as his native french language... A suivre!

Director - Mark Aylward

Mark recently switched to artistic endeavors after 30 years working in various professions including Aircraft Electrical Technician, Educational Program Design and Development and Project Managment. Mark founded Dead Ringer Movies in 2013 after a decision to follow his artistic passions with writing a short film "Homeless not Hopeless". Mark is producing a Children's TV series and directing a feature length film called "PUNK NOIR (The Movie)" and completed his first production "Lonely Ninja". In March 2014, Lonely Ninja won the Audience Choice Award at the Montreal Body Horror Film contest in association with the 5th Annual Film Festival Mascara & Popcorn.

Director of Photography - Gabi Kislat

Gabi is a filmmaker, director of photography and social activist. Originally from Germany, she moved from Berlin to Montreal in 2004 to study Film Production at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University. During her studies she received the “Michel Trudel Award for Outstanding Achievement” from her University for her short film Dimicatio in 2005. Her first self-directed short documentary Sugarmakers (30min.) won “Best Documentary” at the Regina Film and Video Student Festival in 2007. Her latest fiction short film Cry Babyplayed in festivals around the globe in Los Angeles, New York, Providence, India, Philippines and in Montreal. It won the “Audience Award” at the Kino Soirée in Montreal, June 2011.

Set Photographer / Graphic Artist - Maria S

Maria S. is equally talented artistically and managerially! She is the keyboardist for the band The Scroll, a visual artist, musician, dancer/choreographer, and Actor. She recently played a supporting role in the feature film "Do You Truss Me?" Maria is a highly organized and efficient as a programmer, working in web design and director of idVision.ca and works as the Assistant to the Director in Deehrelict Productions.

The Cast

Amanda Lynn Petrin

Amanda was born and raised on the South Shore of Montreal and has been acting in commercials and school productions since she was a child. After graduating from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History, Amanda returned to acting full-time. In the past year, Amanda has appeared in Dead Ringers Movies' Lonely Ninja: Tale of the Exiled, multiple short films, and stars in the upcoming independent horror movie Dark Shack.

Jess Abran

A voice raised in Quebec's Laurentians that now calls Montreal home, Jess is having quite an impact on Montreal's music scene, especially after the buzz about her new EP "Naive". Jess Abran, as an actor and musician since the age of 10, and a composer from age of 12, has been very active and successful in Regional and National competitions, talent shows, and festivals until being discovered by music producer Paul Northfield. Jess Has been in independent films that have been nominated for Hollywood awards in Los Angeles and in France for the Cannes Film Festival. She has toured Europe and played festivals around the world with her music, Jess's travels along with her traits have garnered her the name "Montreal Pirate"

Mel Guibz

Born and raised in Montreal, Mel Guibz became hooked and passionate at an early age with this form of expression "Acting". She is motivated to keep on learning the craft that she loves and is so interested in. She strives to gain better techniques to express herself and tremendously enjoys bringing a character to life for the public. Mel Guibz wants to learn through other actors/actresses, directors and crew members; and to grow and thoroughly experience acting in all of it facets.

Spyro Arvanitis

Spyro was born in Montreal the son of Greek immagrants to Canada. He has been acting in film, theatre and as a voice actor for the last 10 years . He also writes and is working to direct films in the near future.

Otto Szabo

Otto Szabo was born and raised in Europe. He was attracted by the magic of the movies from an early age. He had roles so far in student shorts, independent shorts, web series and feature length movies.

Peter Hodgins

Peter is DP on 'I Hate Toronto: A Love Story', the Director 'nameless Johnston', 'mailroom John' in Ryan Robinson's stage production 'COPY'

Set Landerich

Set is but what Set is. Well, that's what they say... He is a chaotic character who has wandered many places and thanks the Gods that he still remembers some. A bloody punk, that's what describes him best. But one can also say he is a musician, a singer, a composer, a painter, a sculptor, a jeweller, a counsellor, a fighter, a defender, a bragger, and even, sometimes, an obnoxious loud mouth. In brief, he is a creator and occasionally reaches the depths of absurdity as he practices his crafts. He is also an actor when required. In terms of acting, he has had major parts in two movies " Affinity Point" & " Do You Truss Me?", even though he has no formal schooling in the art of acting. As in other areas, he evolved from the school of life & experience.
He also plays guitar and screams in the bands ÖGENIX and WEIRD TERROR. A complexe artist, an intricate man, those who claim to know him well, feel lucky to call him «Friend».

Producer - Mark Aylward

As an independant film-maker living near Montreal Canada, my dream is to make full feature movies that will of course captivate the audience and perhaps garner some attention to my art in making films. I stumbled across a Montreal screenwriter with a script that called out to me. Visit the FACEBOOK page and LIKE to keep up to date on the production of "PUNK NOIR". The funds raised here will be used to (but not limited to): i) fund other fundraising activities for Punk Noir, ii) fund the cost of pre-production, production and post production activities for the movie and sound track, iii) legal fees and other general services to allow Dead Ringer Movies to improve its ability to attract further investment into Punk Noir (the Movie).
