Patter Pets Inc hasn't added a story.
We have a couple things that have come up. And we are making a despert plea for your help. Please donate and know that any amount, small, medium or large is add up and get us where we need to be for these animals. Tara has signs of respiratory symptoms and if the medication she is taking does not turn her around, an examination for a masopharyngeal polyp or foreign body will have to be conducted. This will be conducted by sedation/anesth for restraint otoscopy while under xray exam and a major blood profile. Upon first examination, it is believed her respiratory symptoms are due to a relapse from a dormate state of herpes recrudescence. This alone could account for all of her symptons. As the virus attacks the sinuses and windpipe. Tara can't smell, therefore she does not want to eat and we are syringe feeding her. We are giving Tara cyproheptadine to help improve her appetite and for its antihistamine effects in "drying up" the sinuses. We are also giving her Viralys (l-lysine). She still is not eating on her own, therefore her symptoms are continuing and we have to consider the possibility that an inflammatory polyp (aka) nasopharyngeal polyp) has formed secondary to herpes. A foreign object in the back of her throat and in the sinus area has to be considered also. Tara had a hard start in life. When we first found her, August, 2011, she was approx 2-3 months old and she had to have an eye removed. He eye was alcerated and could not be repaired. She was a small kitten and could not be spayed until she gained enough weight and when she reached the weight needed for her spay surgery her body tempature dropped and she could barely wake up and had to be rushed to the emergency clinic. Besides the medical issue we have encountered with Tara, we still have 3 cats and one dog that need spay and/or neuter. We had a 1991 Buick donated to Patter that needs to become road ready. Our food pantry is very low for the felines and with the cold weather, we need to stock up on wheat straw for the dogs and cats. So, as you can see, we are in a bit of a finanical bind and we are turning to you for help. We ask for your help from time to time because together we make a difference in their lives. We need you right now, your kindness, your genorosity, your prayers, your sharing and helping us network makes the difference here. So I ask, can you give $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or more and make a difference for Tara, Fix a Critter, help purchase some cat food, or help get a much needed donated car road ready for the animals in Patter Pets care? We are a 501c(3) not for profit and 100% of all donations are for the animals. Thank you and always know that we appreciate each and everyone one of you.
