Stand Up For Gus believes that co-parenting between two fit and loving parents should be the standard, not the exception in child custody cases. We are passionate about ending parental alienation, which happens when one parent ostracizes another from the child’s life. We know that separation between adults is often painful and difficult but believe that parents should protect their children from that pain.

WHO is GUS?
Gus is Jason Patric's son. Gus has not seen his Dada in over 78 weeks because of his mother’s refusal and outdated, broken IVF and custody laws. In the course of Jason’s fight to parent his little boy, he was struck by how many other children were suffering from Parental Alienation. He knew that Gus’ plight was a microcosm of a larger epidemic so he decided to do something about it and Stand Up For Gus was formed.
The Voice of the Child — Gus represents all voiceless children manipulated and used as weapons by parents and the family court system.
So many children are being psychologically and emotionally abused due to one parent eliminating the other parent from their little lives. This abuse often causes severe long-term effects for the child including guilt, anger, low self esteem, and depression.
How Will My Donation be Used?
The STAND UP FOR GUS foundation raises awareness to end parental alienation, providing online support, government action, and immediate legal aid for broken families.
You donation will be used toward the following three efforts:
Government Action:
Stand up For Gus has partnered with leading Co-Parenting, Parental Alienation and Pro Children Organizations, collectively creating bills focusing on equal rights and accountability. Given the chance, we would like to continue our steadfast work to amend our broken family court system.
Community and Social Online Support:
Without your support, Stand Up For Gus cannot exist. With your donations, we will be able to continue maintaining our website, social media support and the amazing Public Awareness efforts we have accomplished thus far. Since its inception, Stand up For Gus has partnered with parents, grandparents, families and leading Co-Parenting, Parental Alienation and Pro-Children Organizations to educate and bring awareness to our US citizens as well as those in the UK, Canada, Australia and others campaigning to bring Shared Parenting as the expected norm.
Legal Aid:
With your donations, Stand Up For Gus can immediately offer free legal help to families.
This past year, Stand Up For Gus raised $100,000 employing a lawyer for one year who exclusively works to help our community’s Parental Alienation custody cases. To date, Stand Up for Gus has proudly helped 19 families.
