VegKentucky is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to make plant-based living more accessible, delicious and welcoming across Kentucky.
Over the past two years, we've brought thousands of people together, introduced people to incredible plant-based food, supported vegan and vegan-friendly businesses, created community, and helped show Kentucky that choosing more plant-based foods doesn't have to feel difficult or restrictive.
Now we're asking our community to help us keep it growing.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 this fall to support VegKentucky's programs, events and operations as we head into another year.

Look What We've Built Together 💚
🎉 Louisville VegFest
This September, thousands of people joined us for another incredible Louisville VegFest - Kentucky's largest celebration of vegan food and plant-based living.
Thousands of attendees came together with vendors, local and regional businesses, speakers, community organizations, entertainment, and incredible vegan food.
And VegFest isn't only for people who are already vegan.
It's a welcoming place for anyone who's curious - to try something new, discover a local business, learn something, meet people and experience just how exciting vegan living can be.
🍽️ Making Plant-Based Food More Accessible
Through VegKentucky's weekly meal service, we make fully plant-based meals convenient and approachable for people in our community.
Our rotating menus give customers the opportunity to enjoy familiar comfort foods, healthier options, allergen-friendly choices and new flavors.
We also bring our food into the community through farmers markets, festivals, pop-ups and special events.
Sometimes the easiest way to introduce someone to plant-based living is simply to give them something really good to eat.
🤝 Creating Community
Food may bring people through the door, but community is a huge part of why VegKentucky exists.
Throughout the year, we organize welcoming events that give people a place to gather, connect and enjoy plant-based food together. From our popular Spring BBQ Vegan Social to Supper Clubs, community meetups, seasonal events like our upcoming Halloween Market , and other gatherings throughout the year, we're building opportunities for connection beyond our largest annual festival.
These events aren't only for people who are already vegan. Whether someone has been vegan for twenty years, is trying Meatless Monday for the first time, or simply wants to enjoy great food and meet new people, they're welcome here.
🛍️ Supporting Plant-Based Businesses
VegKentucky doesn't do this work alone.
Our events and platforms help connect Kentucky consumers with vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, food makers, small businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs.
Louisville VegFest alone provides dozens of businesses with an opportunity to reach thousands of people in a single day.
When the plant-based community grows, the businesses serving that community have an opportunity to grow with it.
🌱 Education & Outreach
We want plant-based living to feel possible.
Through events, social media, partnerships, speakers, demonstrations and community outreach, we share resources and introduce people to the many reasons someone might choose more plant-based foods - from personal health and sustainability to compassion for animals.
Our approach is simple:
Meet people where they are. Make it welcoming. And make it delicious.

Why We Need Your Help
VegKentucky has accomplished a lot for a young organization - but none of it happens for free.
Behind every festival, meal, community event and outreach effort are expenses that aren't always visible: ingredients, equipment, venue costs, insurance, technology, marketing, staffing, permits, supplies and the everyday infrastructure required to operate a nonprofit organization.

Here are some of the ways we're putting that mission into action:
🎉 Louisville VegFest
Our largest event of the year, Louisville VegFest, brings thousands of people together for a celebration of plant-based food, community and compassionate living.
With dozens of vendors, local and regional restaurants, small businesses, speakers, demonstrations, entertainment and community organizations, VegFest gives attendees an opportunity to discover just how exciting and accessible plant-based living can be.
It's also an important platform for vegan and vegan-friendly businesses to introduce their products to thousands of people in a single day.
🍽️ Weekly Plant-Based Meal Service
Our weekly meal service makes fully plant-based food convenient and approachable for the Louisville community.
Each week features a rotating menu of ready-to-eat meals ranging from familiar comfort foods and breakfasts to globally inspired dishes and lighter options, with allergen-friendly choices available whenever possible.
It's one of the most direct ways we fulfill our mission: making delicious plant-based food easier to choose.
🌱 Community Events & Pop-Ups
We bring VegKentucky into the community through farmers markets, festivals, pop-ups, dinners, fundraisers and special events.
These smaller events allow us to reach people who may never attend a specifically vegan event, and introduce plant-based food in a casual, welcoming way.
Sometimes changing someone's perception of vegan food starts with one really great meal.
🤝 Building Community
Plant-based living is about more than what's on your plate.
VegKentucky creates opportunities for people to meet, eat, learn and connect with others in their community.
Our goal is to create spaces where everyone feels welcome - whether someone has been vegan for decades, is just beginning to explore plant-based eating, or simply showed up because the food sounded good.

A thriving plant-based community needs thriving businesses.
Through Louisville VegFest, community events, partnerships and our online platforms, VegKentucky helps introduce consumers to vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, food makers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits and other local businesses.
By creating opportunities for these organizations to reach new customers and audiences, we're helping strengthen the larger plant-based ecosystem in Kentucky.
📚 Education & Outreach
Education is an important part of creating lasting change.
Through speakers, demonstrations, events, partnerships, social media and community outreach, VegKentucky shares information and resources that help make plant-based living feel realistic and approachable.
People come to plant-based living for many different reasons - including health, sustainability and compassion for animals - and we want everyone to have a welcoming place to learn more.
What's Next? 🌿
We're proud of what this young organization has already accomplished, but there's much more we'd like to do.
Our focus is on strengthening the programs we've built, expanding our community partnerships, reaching new audiences and creating more opportunities for Kentuckians to experience plant-based food and living.
Sustainable growth requires resources, which is why this fall's Keep Kentucky Growing campaign matters.
