Not long ago, Ratholo Primary School was quietly struggling, like many rural schools, despite the dedication of its teachers. Today, its story is one of belief, consistency, and community-backed excellence. Through focused teacher motivation, development, and recognition, Ratholo has risen from the bottom half of Botswana’s primary schools to number 86 out of 859, achieving an inspiring PSLE pass rate of 82.3% in 2025.

At the heart of this transformation is the Annual Teacher Prize Giving, an initiative that celebrates and rewards teachers based on measurable learner performance. Since its introduction, the number of awards has grown year-on-year, alongside steady improvements in PSLE outcomes, independently assessed and verified. Complemented by teacher development workshops and improved staff welfare, the results speak for themselves.
