In June this year I'm going to be climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. It has an elevation of 1345m above sea level so it's quite high, I love hiking but it's definitely higher than anything I've climbed before and will be a challenge. 

I thought this would be a good opportunity to raise some money for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, who have been providing humanitarian assistance and frontline aid to people in Palestine who are suffering a genocide right now. 

The PRCS protects lives, promotes health and human dignity in life and death and prevents disease throughout occupied Palestine. It has many volunteers who need our support now more than ever. 

The people of Palestine are experiencing unimaginable horrors right now as a result of the genocide and I believe we should do whatever we can to end the genocide and achieve a permanent ceasefire and right of return for people in Palestine, especially considering the UK government's complicity in the conflict and the fact that the genocide is being committed with British weapons. Even a simple action such as donating a small amount will mean a lot. It will also encourage me to get to the top of the mountain.

The situation has been getting worse for 9 months, since the start of the genocide. Since the closing of the borders in Gaza and the complete destruction of infrastructure necessary to sustain life I decided to split the donations I receive from this three ways between Prcs and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, as well as to purchase esims for people to have access to the internet.
