Help me find my way.
I am in trouble and not sure what to do or how to get out of it. I have ran a non profit rescue for over 12 yrs. (501c3) 90% of the animals needs come out of my personal funds as donations are at their lowest. Last month, my sons father passed and as he never remarried, his cremation was left up to me. (One of our sons is disabled) ( I could have let the state cremate and just dump his ashes, but a life is worth so much more then that. ) Huge expense that was not planned for. He also passed with a vehicle on his property not being tagged in yrs, so the towing of the vehicle to my home, hours away was another expense that I had not planned for. Two wks later, our well pump got struck by lightening and blew the switch which in turn blew the main circuit breaker on the power pole...yet another blow to my personal budget. All the expenses were handled, but at the cost of only being able to pay half my mortgage, (First time ever), and pawning a few items. The animals did not suffer as they still had grain, hay, dog and cat food. The horses still got their hooves done. They did NOT suffer a bit except maybe not having me with them as much as I was running everywhere.
Yesterday I get word that my brother who has been battling cancer for yrs is NOT doing well at all and has now been moved to my other brothers home..He is four hours away and I need to be there. Last yr I was able to be with him for days on end a few times a week, but with all the expenses that I have not yet recovered from, I am in a huge mind fight. (Not sure what to do)
My personal monies cannot cover making up of the mortgage, all personal bills, all the animals needs, and getting a motel for a few days. I would have to have someone come "babysit" the animals and my handicapped son, or pack up the dogs, and my son, put a roll out in pasture, have neighbor drop grain, put out numerous bowls of water and food for the cats, and find someone to cover my Saturday volunteer at the food pantry, then take off.
I am putting out this fund raiser in hopes that I can get some much needed support. I have given and given, until there is nothing left to give..I, myself as a person is now in need. I would not have the nerve to post a fund raiser for myself, except if I can get some help, my personal monies could actual be used for my personal needs, and donations could go to the animals and I could go spend some time with my brother. At this time he needs all the support he can get in this terrible time of his life. I cannot say or write what happens when someone has been fighting cancer as long as he has, because I am in denial, and if I write it, I will have to accept it..does that make sense?
I am asking for help to find my way...this is a need that many will understand...I as a person need to go see my brother...I as a person have saved, rescued, rehabbed and rehomed many a horse, but I cannot do that for my brother...I am in need of being rescued right now, and I am coming to our supporters to please help ME this time...God Bless you.
